If you're like me, your pets have become family members. When you can't be home for them, whether because of work, vacation or other obligations, you want them taken care of with the same love and attention you give them. That's exactly what Zumi's Zoo Pet Sitting is all about!

 

Zumi's Zoo Pet Sitting offers a multitude of services for a variety of pets. I also provide various home services which, by making it appear that your house is occupied, can be a crime deterrent. Choose the schedule and services you want, and I'll do the rest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You are the best judge of your pets reaction to unfamiliar situations. The absence of an owner can be an anxiety inducing event for some of our pets. By hiring a pet-sitter, you are taking the first step in minimizing what could be a very stressful time in your pet's life.

 

My goal is to emulate your routines and customize my visits to your pet's needs and personality. Not every pet will want to engage with me, a stranger. For that reason, every time we schedule, we will also schedule an orientation visit in your home. This will be a time to meet and greet your pet(s) and to review the lay of the land, so to speak.

 

Your pet may or may not be social with me and that may tell us how they will handle your absence. As most vacations are not for very long periods of time, your pet may not acclimate to me before you are back. And this is perfectly okay. It is not unusual for me to feed a "ghost" kitty...the one who is eating all the food and making a mess in the litter pan but is never to be seen. Even the most social animal may be reserved when met with changes in their routine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If your cat wants to hide all the time or your dog is stand-offish, I will respect their wishes. I do not want to risk increasing their anxiety by forcing them into interacton. But I will make sure I have had visual contact with them at each visit and will continue to reassure them verbally. When your pet is ready for interaction, they will let me know.

 

In the event your pet hides and is upset about your absence, my professional background gives me an advantage as I will be able to monitor the stressed pet and recognize if their behavior becomes concerning. If your cat or dog is particularly sensitive, or you are anxious about leaving them with me, you can discuss the concerns with your veterinarian and we always have the option of an additional orientation appointment. 

 

Of course, your pet may weather your absence with ease. In either situation, your pet will be well cared for, carefully monitored, played with and generally spoiled!
